This Friday, December 16th 2016

Come celebrate the holiday spirit at Troop 37′s Annual Christmas Pizza – Party. It is being held at:

Zion Lutheran Church Hall

 505 Watchogue Road

      7:30 – 9:00pm.

No Uniforms wear something festive!!! 

Parents and siblings are encouraged to attend. In addition to pizza, skits and songs we are expecting a visit from Santa and he needs to know who is coming.

Please contact your Patrol Leader to inform him whether you and your family will be attending if you have not heard from him by Monday evening.


Senior Patrol please be sure to arrive by 7:00 pm for setup 


Troop Meeting- Friday, December 9, 2016

This week’s Troop Meeting starts promptly at 7:30 PM. All Scouts should be dressed in Class A Uniform and “Be Prepared” for an inspection. We will be working on First Aid skills. Please review Boy Scout Handbook – First Aid Chapter 4, starting on pg. 125 and be sure to bring your handbook to the meeting. (Patrol Points). The password to know this week is “Topographic”.


Religious Emblems- Scouts working on Pope Pious Emblem will meet at LCH at 6:30 PM -prior to Troop meeting. Please be sure to bring your application.

REMINDER All Scout Fleece Jacket order forms need to be submitted this Friday.

Merit Badge Meeting


Greenbar / PLC  Meeting at 6:30 PM

Friday will be a Merit Badge Meeting.  Class B” Uniform Troop T-Shirt. Meeting starts promptly at 7:30PM. Please remember to bring all your merit badge worksheets, books, and any other necessary items needed for the merit badge that you are working on. Scouts who signed out Merit Badge Books and have completed the merit badge please return Books to the Librarian. All Merit Badge Books from the Troop library must be signed out.

Merit Badge workbooks and requirements/ information can be obtained at Merit Badge Research Center:

If you need a particular Merit Badge Councilor to be present at the meeting be sure to contact them, it is the Scout’s responsibility.

This Friday we begin with our Green Bar Meeting, so all Green Bar members need to be in the Lower Church Hall at 6:30 PM and have their meeting ideas/plans for this month. Patrol LeadersPatrols should be working on completing their Patrol Flags for presentation.

7:30 pm Saturday, November 26th EAGLE SCOUT COURT OF HONOR Saint Teresa’s Conran Hall 1634 Victory Boulevard


All Scouts are expected to attend.


The Troop will be conducting an Eagle Scout Court of Honor for Vincent Villani, Robert Jakubowski and Ray Modolo. All Parents, Alumni, Friends, & Supporters of Troop 37 are invited to attend and congratulate our three newest Eagle Scouts. As a Troop 37 Scout it is your duty and obligation to attend and honor your fellow Scouts achievements.

Those not attending must notify Mr. DiTrani why – prior to ceremony.

Please be in Class A Uniform with Merit badge sashes worn over shoulder and arrive no later than 7:10 PM. Parents and family are invited. Refreshments graciously provided by the Eagle Scouts’ families & served courtesy of the Troop 37 Hospitality Committee immediately following ceremony.

Set-up and practice for Color Guard / COH in Conran Hall @ 4:00pm – Please help out.

The Troop will be lean-to / Wilderness Survival Shelter camping and be Patrol Cooking at William H. Pouch Scout Camp for the weekend.

We will meet at Pouch Camp Parking lot by the Trading Post on Friday afternoon (11/18/16) meet there at 5:00 PM. You must wear boots and be sure to bring a Cup to drink out of.

“Be Prepared” Pack proper clothes for the weather. Check the forecast. Dress in LAYERS and bring the following:

  • [ ] Sandwich for Friday nightcmping
  • [ ] Hat
  • [ ] Jacket
  • [ ] Raingear
  • [ ] Hiking Boots -A Must-
  • [ ] Extra socks
  • [ ] Cup for drinking
  • [ ] Sleeping Bag ( pad or air mattress)
  • [ ] Full Water Bottle or canteen
  • [ ]10 Essentials (including Compass)
  • [ ] Scout Handbook
  • [ ] Money for the Trading Post

Please review and use the packing list . The items will be necessary to insure your health and comfort while participating in the activities planned

for a camping trip. If you have any questions regarding the Trip, contact your Patrol Leader and/or one of the Senior Patrol Leaders.



Veterans Day Ceremony

 08:30 AM November 11, 2016

900 South Avenue, Staten Island

Boy Scout Troop 37 along with Cub Pack 37 has been requested to be the Color guard for the Veterans Day Ceremony on Friday November 11, 2016 at Corporate Park 900 South Avenue, Staten Island.

 The ceremony will last about 20 minutes. We have been invited to a complimentary breakfast immediately following. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Class A uniforms – Cleaned and pressed – Look sharp

Shoes or Boots – no sneakers or sport shoes

Please arrive no later than 8:30 am

This event counts as Community Service for Rank Advancement

Troop Meeting Friday November 11, 2016 

This week’s Troop Meeting Scouts should be in Class A uniform and be sure to bring their Boy Scout Handbook. This month’s theme is Wilderness Survival. We will be honing our survival skills,  selecting shelter teams, and preparing our menus and equipment lists.

We must know if you are attending our Wilderness Survival Camping Trip to Pouch Camp. The trip is on November 18, 19, and 20, with a cost of $25 per person. If you plan on attending, you must turn in your PERMISSION FORM [click here] and payment.


Scouts working on the Pope Pious XII Religious Emblem will me at 6:30 prior to the regular Troop meeting
