TMR WINTER BLAST CAMPING TRIP MARCH 3RD -5TH 2017- No Meeting

We are meeting at the Troop Shed on Friday at 4:30 PM sharp

Please be aware that we are cabin camping and the temperature can still drop significantly, so be sure to pack properly, using a soft duffle or gym bag. NO BACKPACKS, and please bring the following:

[ ] Bring Your TROOP FLEECE

[ ] Bring a Sandwich or brown bag something for your Friday night dinner.

[ ] You must bring your own Cup to drink out of

[ ] Nalgene / Water bottle

[ ] Wool or Fleece Hat

[ ] Gloves

[ ] Jacket

[ ] Hiking Boots

[ ] Extra socks

[ ] Appropriate Clothes

[ ] Money for the Trading Post

[ ]10 Essentials

[ ] String Bag or Day Pack for Hike

[ ] Sleeping Bag / foam pad or air mattress

[ ] Fishing Rod if you want to Fish (camp supplies bait)

For camping trip to Ten Mile River (TMR) Scout Reservation, please review and use the {packing list.} The items will be necessary to insure your health and comfort while participating in the activities planned for a camping trip. Please, NO radios, iPods, electronic games or other sound emitting electronic devices. ALL clothing items that a scout takes should be permanently marked with their name.

TMR is located in the Sullivan County Catskills in New York State, near Monticello and Narrowsburg. It is about a two-hour drive from the George Washington Bridge. TMR Scout Camp,1481 Crystal Lake Road, Narrowsburg, New York 12764,     (845) 252-2000

 


Troop meeting Friday February 24, 2017

This week’s meeting will start off with “Class A” Uniform inspection. This Month’s Troop meeting theme is Cooking. The Senior Patrol will be conducting a “Cooking Skills” meeting with round robin cooking stations.

 Community Service to Parish 

Sunday 02/24/17 Burning Palm to Make Ashes- 

On Sunday February 26, 2017 Boy Scout Troop 37 will be collecting palm at both the Saint Teresa’s Church and chapel. Scouts will burn the palm outside Lower Church Hall on Sunday, February 26, immediately following the 12:30 Mass. These ashes will be then be blessed and used on Ash Wednesday. Community Service time will be credited for this event. Meet at Lower Church Hall at 12:30 PM

Merit Badge Meeting

On Friday February 17, 2017 there will be a Merit Badge Meeting. Please remember to bring all your merit badge worksheets, books, and any other necessary items needed for the merit badge that you are working on. Scouts who signed out Merit Badge Books and have completed the merit badge please return them to Librarian. All Merit Badge Books from the Troop library must be signed out.

Troop Meeting Friday February 3, 2017

Greenbar Meeting prior to at: 6:30

This Friday February 3 2017, NO UNIFORMS Uniform standards are relaxed this week–so wear your favorite T-Shirt. This way your Uniforms will be cleaned / pressed and looking sharp for Scout Sunday February 5th at 10:00 AM Mass and the 11:45 Breakfast at the Staaten. At the meeting, we will be working on Map & Compass Skills.  Bring a Compass to the meeting.

SCOUT SUNDAY REMINDER

This year’s Scout Sunday mass will be held this Sunday, February 5th, 2017 at 10:00 a.m.  Scouts are requested to assemble in the Lower Church Hall in full Class A uniforms no later than 9:30 a.m. The cost of the breakfast, remains the same as last year, $25.00 per person regardless of age. All current scouts attending are FREE and will be paid for by the troop. Parents If you have not paid for your tickets yet, please make arrangements with Mr. T. Lattanzio this Friday

Troop Fleeces will be issued at this week’s meeting-If you have a compass
