and Important Summer Camp Information

On Tuesday July 10th at 7:00PM-8:00PM , we will be at St. Teresa’s Lower Church Hall to collect any outstanding summer camp fees, medical paperwork and distribute your scouts ordered Class “B” T-shirts.

Please note: you must have all outstanding issues resolved at this meeting as we WILL NOT be accepting any fees or paperwork on the day departure.

SUMMER CAMP FEES
[ ] Hawk Mountain
[ ] Volunteer Fire Dept Breakfast ($12.00 per person) –submit a headcount (scouts already paid for)
[ ] Friday Night Chicken Dinner ($9.00 ) (scouts already paid for)

MEDICAL
[ ] Medicals Forms A, B & C (2 copies with Insurance card front and back) MUST HAVE
[ ] Food Allergy Forms (must have to attend camp)
[ ] Administer Over The Counter Medicine Form (must have to attend camp)

MERIT BADGE WORKBOOKS

[ ] Printout the workbooks – MUST BRING TO CAMP

[ ] Read the Merit Badge requirements

[ ] Read the Merit Badge book

[ ] Complete all required prerequisites as outlined on the Merit Badge worksheet

Important Summer Camp Information

We will all meet for Mass at Saint Teresa’s next Sunday July 15th at 7:00 AM Sharp. Meet at the Lower Church Hall parking lot. After the vehicles are loaded and Mass is finished we will leave for the camp at about 8:30 AM. We will make our annual stop again this year at the , PA for a Breakfast Buffet. (Directions Here)

Families are needed to drive up to the camp with us. There will be a lot of equipment and scouts to transport.

  • All Scouts and leaders will wear the Class B Troop T-shirt up to the camp and Breakfast. We will change into Class “A” once we arrive at camp.
  • Please make sure your son(s) have their bathing suit on under their class B uniform (scout shorts/pants, socks, belt, Troop T-shirt) or readily available (not packed in a trunk) with their towel. They should also have their Class A Uniform shirt and Neckerchief readily available (not packed in a trunk) for as soon as we arrive at camp to take the troop photo.
  • Have a full water bottle to keep on their person as they tour the camp and to use daily to keep themselves hydrated.
  • Thursday is Hawaiian Shirt Day at Camp if you have a Hawaiian shirt bring it.
  • Be sure to bring Scout Socks Full dress “Class A” uniform for all breakfast and evening meals at the dining hall. For both camp wide campfires full dress class A uniform including Scout Socks
  • Bring a Hanger to Hang up your Uniform
  • Bring Your Scout Handbook to camp
  • Put your name or initials on the labels of all your clothing (especially uniform items)
  • Don’t Bring Valuables or any Electronic Devices (CELL PHONES, Ipod’s, games, phones, radios, etc.) to camp. Leave them at home.
  • Scout spending money is to be placed in an envelope clearly marked with your scouts name and amount contained within. All monies should be in small denominations (we recommend bills no larger than $10). All envelopes will be collected by Mr. “G” in the parking lot.

EAGLE SCOUT COURT OF HONOR

All Scouts are expected to attend.

 

The Troop will be conducting an Eagle Scout Court of Honor for Anthony Mendez, Johnny Mendez, Michael Mendez and Julian Perdomo. All Parents, Alumni, Friends, & Supporters of Troop 37 are invited to attend and congratulate our three newest Eagle Scouts. As a Troop 37 Scout it is your duty and obligation to attend and honor your fellow Scouts achievements.

Those not attending must notify Mr. DiTrani why – prior to ceremony.

Please be in Class A Uniform with Merit badge sashes worn over shoulder and arrive no later than 7:10 PM. Parents and family are invited. Refreshments graciously provided by the Eagle Scouts’ families & served courtesy of the Troop 37 Hospitality Committee immediately following ceremony.

Troop Meeting Friday April 13, 2018

This Friday Uniform standards will be relaxed NO UNIFORMs. Wear your favorite sports or school teams, superhero sweatshirt /t-shirt or whatever else you are comfortable in. We will be working on Gateway and Gadgets for Camporee. We will also be working on GPS and Map and Compass. Meeting starts promptly at 7:30. Patrol Leaders Please bring Patrol Roster and Menu plans.

On Saturday April 14th & possibly Sunday looking for some assistance from Star and Life Scouts (older Scouts) to assist with the Parish House makeover. We will be meeting at 9:00 am wear painting clothes.

Troop Meeting November 17, 2017

7:30 PM Lower Church Hall — NO UNIFORMS

During our normal meeting we will distribute food and patrol gear for our backpacking trip. We will then conduct an inspection and shake down of everyone’s pack. After the inspection we will go over the schedule of events for our backpacking trip and a number of other issues. After that we are showing a movie. We will be sleeping over in the lower church hall that night and hiking out in the morning. Bring your Backpack loaded and ready to Go- Use the checklist on Troop web site to pack. http://bsatroop37.us/resources/ Please give some careful thought to necessary items that should be included in your pack such as proper clothing for the season, rain gear, and sleeping gear, a cup, etc.

Patrol Leaders be sure to bring the ingredients and recipe for you Dutch Oven Dinners for Saturday night …

Troop Meeting Friday October 6, 2017

This Friday we begin with our Greenbar / PLC meeting,  ALL Greenbar members need to be in the Lower Church Hall at 6:30 PM.

Scouts working on Religious Emblem will meet at 6:30 prior to the regular Troop meeting

 

Regular Troop Meeting begins at 7:30 PM

[  ] Class A Uniform This week Scout Skills Instruction we will work on Hiking Skills – review Boy Scout Handbook pages 262-283. All scouts should have their handbooks for Patrol corners.   We will also be prepping equipment for the Alpine / Palisades Historic Trail Hike Camping Trip Oct. 27, 28 & 29

 

REMINDER: Last Year’s Patrol Leaders need to:

[  ] Return their Patrol Boxes at this week’s Meeting.

[  ] Conduct an inventory of their Patrol box and bring completed report and Patrol Box to meeting. Report can be found on Troop web site in the resources section.

Court Of Honor- we be conducting the Fall Court of Honor for our scouts in the Lower Church Hall. A Court of Honor, as the name states, is a ceremony held to present scouts with awards they have earned such as merit badges, rank badges, and other special awards which recognize their achievements.

All Parents are encouraged to attend the Court of Honor.

Alpine Camping Trip-Historic Trail Hike

The Troop will be Tent Camping at Alpine Scout Camp for the weekend and will hike the Historic Palisades Trail. Patrols will be Patrol cooking with the exception of Lunch on Saturday which will be provided on the hike. Scouts and Scouters completing the Hike will earn the Historic Trails Award. The cost of the Trip will be $30.00 permission slips will be available below.  Cut -Off Date for payment and slip October 20
