This week Scout Skills Instruction we will work on Hiking Skills – review Boy Scout Handbook pages 262-283. We will also be prepping equipment for the Alpine / Palisades Historic Trail Hike Camping Trip Oct. 17, 18 & 19

REMINDER: Last Year’s Patrol Leaders need to:
[ ] Return their Patrol Boxes at this week’s Meeting.
[ ] Conduct an inventory of their Patrol box and bring completed report and Patrol Box to meeting. Report can be found on Troop web site in the resources section.

Board of Reviews will be conducted– by Committee members/Parents

Green Bar Meeting Evaluation– immediately following Troop Meeting.


Reminder: Please bring your sold raffle tickets and monies to any Troop meeting to turn in to Mrs. Bilotto.  Haven’t sold any tickets?  What are you waiting for?  Get out there and talk to your friends and neighbors and ask them to support you and your Troop by purchasing a raffle ticket and be sure to invite them to the Troop Pancake Breakfast on November 2nd.

All unsold raffle tickets may be returned at October 31st’s Troop meeting.

Friday June 28, 2013 Court of Honor

On Friday at 7:30 PM will be our Summer Court of Honor for our scouts.

A Court of Honor, as the name states, is a ceremony held to present scouts with awards they have earned such as merit badges and rank badges which recognize their achievements.

Scouts should be in Full Class A Uniform with their merit badge sashes.

Senior Patrol and Service patrol should arrive at 7:00 pm for setup.

All are encouraged to attend with refreshments being served immediately after.

Canoe Trip – June 21st- 23rd, 2013

Please meet at the shed Friday at 4:30 sharp for this weekend’s canoe trip. We are leaving by 5:00 PM Take note of the following:

[ ] Bring a sandwich or something for Friday night’s dinner.
[ ] Make sure you turned in Liability form signed by a Parent
[ ] Bring old sneakers or water shoes for canoeing that won’t fall off –NOT Sandals.
[ ] Bring a wide brim hat / Sunscreen/ sun block for sun protection.
[ ] Bring a cup – You won’t need a mess kit.
[ ] Bring a towel.
[ ] Camp Chair to sit in
[ ] Appropriate Clothing / Rain gear
[ ] We will be sleeping in either tents or lean-tos so bring sleeping bag/ air mattress or pad.

We are going to go through tents, canopies, stoves, patrol tables, and clean up remaining equipment from camporee.

The required Liability Form {Click Here} MUST BE COMPLETED FOR EACH PERSON CANOEING and signed by Parents of those under 18 yrs of age and Permission Slip {Click Here} for all Scouts .

All payments, Signed Permission Slips, and Release of Liability forms must be returned No Later than June 7, 2013 in order to reserve canoes, purchase food, and arrange for transportation. No replies necessary please, just payment and forms in order to attend.

Camporee-Friday May 17, 2013 -Sunday May 19

Troop 37 – it’s all up to you!!! Be Prepared!!

Those attending the Camporee on May 17-19, 2012 at Pouch Camp please be at the
Camporee Field by 5:00 P.M. (Manor Road across from the JCC).

[ ] Make sure you are Wearing Boots and in Full “Class A” Uniform including Scout Socks.

[ ] Everyone should pack your Backpack accordingly and be prepared for the check list
inspection at the check in.

[ ] Remember to Pack your “Class B” Troop T-shirt

 and most importantly don’t forget your [ ] Scout Spirit

Patrol Leaders be sure to bring: [ ] Rosters and [ ] Menus [ ] Patrol Flags [ ] Have a Patrol Cheer, Yell, or Call [ ] Patrol Chuck Boxes and metal Legs. [ ] a String Bag Pack,

Troop Meeting Friday April 5, 2013

We are in the process of finalizing plans for the Agatha A. Durland Scout Reservation, Camping Trip on the weekend of April 19-21, 2013. Durland Scout reservation is located at  1 Clear Lake, Putnam Valley, NY  10579. We will be tent camping. Scouts will be cooking their own meals by Patrol.  In order to properly order the appropriate amount of food, supplies, and ensure adequate vehicle transportation we need to know who is attending by this Friday 04/05/13, if attending please bring payment of $30 and a signed permission form. This is also an opportunity to earn the Pulp and Paper Merit Badge (Req. 7)

Pratt Industries is America’s 5th largest box manufacturer and the world’s largest, privately-held 100% recycled paper and packaging company. We are scheduled to have a tour of the facilities at 4:30 PM on Friday March 22nd. The tour will last approximately an hour and a half to two hours

Friday March 15, 2013 WEBELOS Crossover Ceremony

The WEBLOS Scouts are crossing over to be welcomed into Troop 37. The Meeting is starting at 7:30PM. Meet at the lower church hall in complete Class “A” Uniform

ASPL & Patrol Leaders turn in your headcounts for the Pratt Paper and Marine Industry Day before Friday’s meeting.

We are continuing to work on monthly theme “Physical Fitness”
