C. Gundacker Eagle Project Update

Dear Scouts, Parents, and Friends, 

The time has come for my Eagle Scout Leadership Project. The project will be on Saturday April 12th, 2014 and we will be meeting at 8:30 AM at 1131 Manor Road, Staten Island, NY 10314. It is the camp next to Pouch, Henry Kaufmann Campgorunds. The project should last into the afternoon. 

The project is building a gateway that starts a trail, the gateway will honor a Police officer, and cleaning up a 100 yard trail, so rakes, gloves and power drills will be needed. If you have any of these supplies and are willing to donate or loan them for my project (they will be returned) that would be a great help.  If you plan on bringing any materials, please call/email me from the listed contact information, as soon as possible.

We will be building, painting and cleaning in a park area so be prepared to get a little dirty. Wear older clothes and boots and please bring work gloves. It may be muddy still. 

Please call/ e-mail me to let me know if you can go, if you have materials, and/or if you can’t go but have materials to lend. 

Any help or time that you could offer the day of the project would be greatly appreciated. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

Friday, March 28th – Regular Troop Meeting – Camping Expo Prep 1

This Friday we will be having a Regular Troop meeting.  We will be having a preparing for the Camping Expo the Troop will be conducting on Saturday, March 29th from 10a to 2pm, for the Girl Scouts.

The scouts will running and teaching camping skills such as Tent setup and scuttle, Knots, Cooking, Cleanup, Fire Station.

All scouts are to be in Class A uniform and have their handbooks.

Eagle Project Notification – April 5th:

Chris Gundacker will be conducting his Eagle Project on Saturday, April 5th, beginning at 8:45AM at the corners of Hueguenot Avenue and Chester Avenue, Staten Island. Group 1 Snow Patrol Duty – Fedorschak Home

 Group 1, Rattlesnakes Patrol, is up for snow patrol duty tomorrow @ 10 am @ Mrs. Fedorschak’s Home.

The driveway still needs to be cleared as Mrs. Fedorschak has an appointment to attend on Tuesday and the plows have left a large pile of snow behind, besides what didn’t get cleared from the previous visits. 

 Please be there by 10 am with your shovel to help clear the snow. I will meet you there.

Friday, Jan. 31st – Regular Troop Meeting

This Friday we will be having a Regular Troop Meeting.  All scouts should be in Class B to keep their Class A’s in tip-top shape for Scout Sunday.

Scout Sunday is this coming Sunday, February 2, 2014. The day will begin with mass at St. Teresa’s at 10:00 AM.  Scouts must be at Lower Church Hall in CLEAN Class A Uniform (neckerchiefs and Merit Badge Sashes) by 9:30AM.  Following the mass, we will have our Annual Court of Honor at LiGreci’s Staaten, 697 Forest Avenue beginning at 12 noon.  Please plan to arrive no later than 11:45AM as we have a full agenda this year and two wonderful speakers.

Also, St. Teresa’s Food Pantry stocks are running low.  In the spirit of being “Reverent” and “Duty to God”, we are asking that every scout family bring one or two items from the items in the table below. 

Sr. Margaret Mary’s food pantry can sure use your help. To help you when you go shopping, the following items are always in need and encouraged: Thank you.

We have a number of upcoming events that require you to submit your payments if you wish to attend:

March 7th – 9thSki Trip – Anyone interested in attending the March Ski Trip, will need to bring a minimum payment of $50 no later than the January 24th Troop meeting. This is a non-refundable payment to secure the lodging reservations and make checks payable to “BSA Troop 37”.  All payments must be accompanied by a fully completed permission slip (Click Here to download).

Feb 28th – Mar 2nd – Winter Blast @ TMR – In order to secure a place for our Troop to attend we must have a final headcount and payment to GNYC by February Roundtable, Feb 10th.  The cost is $60 per person and we will require everyone’s monies no later than February 7th’s meeting.  Please make checks payable to “BSA Troop 37”.

Friday, Jan. 3rd Meeting Cancelled

Due to expected temperature lows and lower church hall parking lot not being plowed tonight’s meeting is cancelled.

We will be accepting the Winnebago Trip payments at Friday, Jan. 10th meeting.

  • Church of the Ascension Luncheon has been postponed from Sat. Jan 4th to Sat. Jan 11th 12:30pm – 3:30pm:

      - All scouts are expected to attend in Full Class A Uniform and be there by 12 Noon.   This is an excellent opportunity to obtain service hours which all scouts need in order to advance.  Remember “A Scout is helpful”.

We will be having our first regular Troop meeting of the New Year in Lower Church Hall.  I hope everyone has a Safe and Happy New Year.

Class A Uniforms are required.

If you have not brought in your toiletries, this is your last chance. We will be collecting toiletries for the Church of the Ascension at the meeting

Also, this Friday will be your last chance to submit your Winnebago Camping Trip Payment and Permission slips {Click to Download}. Payment is $25 per camper.

There will be no meeting on Friday, December 27th.  Our next Troop meeting will be Friday, January 3rd, 2014.

Friday, Dec. 13th – Regular Troop Meeting
