–         We will be working on First Aid skills and Rank advancements.  Please review pages 120-141 in your Handbook and bring your Handbook.

Service Project- Saturday, December 1 at 9 am in front of the Gym.

–         We will be assisting the St. Teresa’s Holy Name Society in putting up Christmas trees.  This activity is appropriate for the older scouts.  The HNS will also be decorating the trees, either later on Saturday or on Sunday. That part is appropriate for the younger scouts.  Additional information on the decorating will be provided.  Service time will be awarded.

Veteran’s Day Ceremony- Monday November 12 We have once again been invited by Mr. and Mrs. Nicotra to participate in the Veteran’s Day Ceremony next Monday at 900 South Avenue.  Everyone should be off from school that day and available to attend.  Please arrive no later than 8:45 in Full Class A uniform with Merit Badge sash.  We are also invited to a brunch at the Hampton Inn immediately following the ceremony.

The Passing of Margaret Anne Boyer

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Boyer family as they mourn the passing of Margaret Anne Boyer beloved mother of Mr. Allen Boyer and grandmother of Scout Thomas Boyer. Please keep the family in your prayers during this difficult time. Please also read the attached obituary and share it with your scouts as Mrs. Boyer had an amazing life and was very accomplished especially when you consider the period of time that she grew up in.

Joe Ferretti’s Eagle Project Needs Your Help

My Eagle project will take place at Historic Richmond Town, 441 Clarke Ave. 10306, on SATURDAY, OCTOBER 6TH @ 8:30 AM with a rain date of SUNDAY, OCTOBER 7TH. We will be meeting in the main parking lot. The project involves scraping and painting of the fence around the courthouse. All supplies/equipment will be provided, as well as breakfast and lunch.

Volunteer Opportunity – The Staten Island Shakespearean Theatre Company needs help with their production of Measure for Measure inside Fort Tompkins at Fort Wadsworth  They need volunteers to help direct audience members to Fort Tompkins from the Visitor Center parking lot, and then helping them with seats (some bring their own), handing out programs, giving out water, and just general help. The have a very large number of elderly people that come see the show and who will need help. The shows are September 15, 16 & 22, 23 at 4:00pm.  If you are interested in helping, please let Mr. Pfuhler know.

Troop 37 Annual Family-Alumni Canoe Trip June 22nd-24th, 2018

Please meet at the shed 4:30 PM sharp for this weekend’s Canoe trip. We are leaving at 5:00 PM. Take note of the following:

[ ] Bring a sandwich or something for Friday night’s dinner.
[ ] Make sure you turned in Liability form signed by a Parent
[ ] Pack using a duffle bag or soft pack NO Frame BACKPACKS (save space)

[ ] Bring old sneakers or water shoes for canoeing that won’t fall off –NOT Sandals.
[ ] Bring a wide brim hat / Sunscreen/ sun block for sun protection.
[ ] Bring a cup – You won’t need a mess kit.
[ ] Bring a towel.
[ ] Camp Chair to sit in

[ ] Appropriate Clothing Sweatshirt / Raingear

[ ] We will be sleeping in either tents or lean-tos so bring sleeping bag/ air mattress or pad.

[ ] A Small String bag with Ziploc bag inside or waterproof bag to tie onto canoe for belongings while on river

This Friday May 11, 2018, we will be having Merit Badge Meeting in Lower Church Hall @ 7:30pm.  All scouts are to be in Class A uniform Please remember to bring all your merit badge worksheets, books, and any other necessary items needed for the merit badge that you are working on. Scouts who signed out Merit Badge Books and have completed the merit badge please return them to Librarian. All Merit Badge Books from the Troop library must be signed out.

We will be discussing important Troop issues. At least one parent /guardian is required to attend. We will also be providing information on Summer Camp and recent changes at camp. You can also to pick up the necessary literature and forms for your scouts to attend summer camp

We will be raffling off a fully paid One week stay at Hawk Mountain for a lucky scout including a fully paid Friday night stay at the Micro Hotel for some lucky parent(s). Parents attending Troop Mandatory Parents meeting will receive a raffle ticket at no cost….(one per family). Must be present to win.
