The Troop will be Cabin Camping at Ten Mile River Scout Reservation, Narrowsburg, NY, for the “Winter Blast” weekend. We will depart from the Troop shed on Friday afternoon (02/10) meet there at 4:30 PM.

You must bring your own Cup to drink out of.

Scouts should pack for this trip using a soft duffle or gym bag rather than backpacks to save on space for loading vehicles.

Weekend weather forecast is for cold temperatures- high 27°F and Low 7°F. “Be Prepared” Pack proper clothes for the cold weather.   Dress in LAYERS and bring the following:

Scout Sunday is planned for Sunday, February 5^th. The day will begin with meeting at Lower Church at 8:20 am to line up for 9:00 am mass at St. Teresa Church. Following the mass, we will have our annual breakfast at LiGreci’s Staaten, on Forest Ave. beginning at 10:30.

This week is a Merit Badge Meeting  so please ”BE PREPARED” to work on a merit badge and bring worksheets, especially anyone with partials. 

If you have any Troop Merit Badges books you are no longer using please return them and make sure they are signed back in by the Troop Librarian.

If you have any Merit Badge Books of your own you longer need you can donate them to the Troop Library.

Patrol leaders will be signing off on the advancement requirements that scouts completed on the camping trip, and updating advancement records.  Please be sure to bring your Scout Handbook.  Especially if your are sitting for a Board of Review.

 There will also be a “Know Knot Challenge” for anyone wants to try. If you beat the challenge by getting all 7 knots tied under 2 Minutes you will receive a Red Rope. Your patrol will also be awarded Cup points. (click here for challenge info)

We must know if you are attending our Camping Trip to Quail Hill, New Jersey for cabin camping.  The trip is on January 13, 14, and 15, with a cost of $25 per person.  If you plan on attending you must turn in your PERMISSION FORM [click here] and payment. This is the only meeting before the trip to prepare. We need a confirmation Yes or No headcount for planning menus and arranging for drivers.

We will be collecting toiletries for the Church of the Ascension this will be your last chance to donate. Remember that A Scout is Helpful. (It is your choice of bring any of the following items: shampoo, soap, deodorant, combs, hairbrushes, toothpaste, tooth brushes, shaving cream, shaving razors or talcum powder.)

The knot of the month is the bowline. You will, also, be expected to tie the knots of the last 3 months along with the bowline at this meeting. There will also be a knot challenge for who is up to it. Your patrol will be awarded points if you make it.
