Those attending the Camporee on May 18-20, 2012 at Pouch Camp please be at the
Camporee Field by 5:00 P.M. (Manor Road across from the JCC).

[ ] Make sure you are Wearing Boots and in Full “Class A” Uniform including Scout Socks.

[ ] Please bring an item for Project Homefront to help support our Military Troops.

[ ] Everyone should pack your Backpack accordingly and be prepared for the check list
inspection at the check in.

The rank of Eagle Scout is one of the most significant achievements that a Boy Scout can achieve during his time as a scout. To become an Eagle Scout, among other things a scout must plan and lead an Eagle Scout Leadership project that includes service to the community and/or a beneficiary. It is with great please to tell you that the time has come for our Eagle Scout Leadership Projects.

The two separate and distinct projects will both be on Sunday, April 29th, 2012 at Seabee Park in Fort Wadsworth (Staten Island, NY 10305). We will be meeting at 8:00 AM at the pavilion at Seabee Park (directions will be provided).

There will be two projects going on simultaneously. Jack’s project will be building tent pads for a future urban camping site. Sean’s project will be building corral fences around the camping sites and rehabilitating (scraping /painting) BBQ grills around the pavilion.

Building the tent pads and the fences will involve quite a lot of dirt and wood lifting. We recommend wearing old work clothing that you don’t care about and wouldn’t mind getting dirty. While we repurpose the grills, we will be stripping the rust on the grills and repainting them.

If you have any wire brushes, shovels, gloves, or eye goggles, we would be happy to have you bring them to help with the project. If you have any of these supplies, please call/e-mail Sean or Jack with the contact information below as soon as possible.

Even if you can only attend for a short period of time, we definitely need the manpower to accomplish these projects. Any help or time you can spare for the projects will be greatly appreciated. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

Congratulations to ASM Ron Gutierrez for completing Woodbadge training and receiving his certification on March 25, 2012 at the 20th Annual Woodbadge Dining-In.

packing list . The items will be necessary to insure your child’s health and comfort while
participating in the activities planned for a camping trip. Please, NO radios, iPods,
electronic games or other sound emitting electronic devices. ALL clothing items
that a scout takes should be permanently marked with their name.

Directions: From I-80:
Take Exit 25 (Route 206 North, Newton). Take the first ramp to the right. (Follow the
Waterloo Village signs). Take the first right, just before the light, onto Continental Drive.
Go to the end of Continental Drive and turn left onto Waterloo Road. The entrance to
the camp is approximately one mile down, on the right (opposite and a few hundred
yards past the entrance to Waterloo Village).

This week is a Merit Badge Meeting so please “BE PREPARED” to work on a merit badge and bring worksheets, especially anyone with partials.

If you have any Troop Merit Badges books you are no longer using please return them
and make sure they are signed back in by the Troop Librarian.

If you have any Merit Badge Books of your own you longer need you can donate them
to the Troop Library.

Uniform standards are relaxed this week so wear your “Class B” Troop T-Shirt.
