Friday, April 25th – PJ Vaccaro Eagle Project / Durland Camping Trip

This Friday there will be no meeting as we will be having our Durland Camping Trip. We will be meeting at the shed no later than 4:30pm. Packing list is indicated below. All scouts are to be in Class B T-Shirts if you have them.

PJ Vaccaro is conducting his Eagle Project this coming weekend, Saturday and Sunday, April 26th and 27th

All helpers will be meeting in the Burger King Parking lot both days.  Saturday is at 2pm and Sunday at 7AM.

On Sunday, two scouts are needed for an honor guard and must be Class A uniform (Neckerchief and socks required) with their Class B’s underneath.

He needs to know who will be attending to assist him in his project ASAP!

Please email him directly TODAY of the day you plan to attend to assist as this is a two day event. All those scouts not attending the camping trip should be able to attend at least one day of his project. 

Let’s help our fellow scout in his efforts on his trail to Eagle.

  • Backpack
  • Warm clothes (an extra days worth of clothes, plan for wet weather)
  • Hat/Gloves/Jacket (still low temperatures at night)
  • Sleeping Bag/Pillow
  • Boots (Waterproof recommended. And second pair of shoes  with extra socks)
  • Full Water Bottle/Drinking Cu/Fork, Spoon, Knife

Friday, April 18, 2014 – Good Friday – No Meeting

This Friday, April 18th, 2014 is Good Friday and there will be no Troop meeting.

Friday, April 11th – Mandatory Parents Summer Camp Meeting

This Friday we will be having a Mandatory Parents Summer Camp meeting.  At least one parent/guardian is required to attend to pick up the necessary literature and forms for your scouts to attend summer camp and pay the second installlment.  Please make every effort to attend.

All scouts are to be in Class A uniform and will be doing a camping equipment shake out in preparation for Durland Camping Trip.

GNYC Camporee: registration deadline is April 16th, so we require those attending to submit their payment and signed permission slips this Friday. {Download permission slip here}.

Durland Scout Reservation: With no meeting on the Friday before the camping trip we will require the payment and signed permission slips for the Durland Camping as well. {Download permission slip here}.

C. Gundacker Eagle Project Update

Dear Scouts, Parents, and Friends, 

The time has come for my Eagle Scout Leadership Project. The project will be on Saturday April 12th, 2014 and we will be meeting at 8:30 AM at 1131 Manor Road, Staten Island, NY 10314. It is the camp next to Pouch, Henry Kaufmann Campgorunds. The project should last into the afternoon. 

The project is building a gateway that starts a trail, the gateway will honor a Police officer, and cleaning up a 100 yard trail, so rakes, gloves and power drills will be needed. If you have any of these supplies and are willing to donate or loan them for my project (they will be returned) that would be a great help.  If you plan on bringing any materials, please call/email me from the listed contact information, as soon as possible.

We will be building, painting and cleaning in a park area so be prepared to get a little dirty. Wear older clothes and boots and please bring work gloves. It may be muddy still. 

Please call/ e-mail me to let me know if you can go, if you have materials, and/or if you can’t go but have materials to lend. 

Any help or time that you could offer the day of the project would be greatly appreciated. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

Friday, April 4th – Regular Troop Meeting

This Friday we will be having a Regular Troop meeting. We will be having an Order of the Arrow Election this meeting and working on camporee station knowledge

All scouts are to be in Class A uniform and have their handbooks.

Thursday, April 3rd at 3:45PM in Conran Hall, we will be setting up for the Interfaith Passover Seder. Many hands make lightwork, so please make every effort to attend. All scouts in attendance will receive service hours.

Saturday, April 5th, from 10AM to 2PM in the St. Teresa Parking Lot ,the Cub scout Pack 37 will running a Bike Rodeo and have requested assistance from the scout of the Troop. All scouts in attendance will receive service hours.

Mandatory Summer Camp Meeting Reminder: Friday, April 11th, will be our Mandatory Summer Camp meeting where at least one parent/guardian needs to be in attendance to receive their package of forms that need to be filled out and submit the next payment, $145, for Summer Camp. Please make every effort to attend.

Friday, March 28th – Regular Troop Meeting – Camping Expo Prep

This Friday we will be having a Regular Troop meeting.  We will be having a preparing for the Camping Expo the Troop will be conducting on Saturday, March 29th from 10a to 2pm, for the Girl Scouts.

The scouts will running and teaching camping skills such as Tent setup and scuttle, Knots, Cooking, Cleanup, Fire Station.

All scouts are to be in Class A uniform and have their handbooks.

Eagle Project Notification – April 5th:

Chris Gundacker will be conducting his Eagle Project on Saturday, April 5th, beginning at 8:45AM at the corners of Hueguenot Avenue and Chester Avenue, Staten Island. Friday, March 21st – Forestburg Camping Trip

This Friday we will be mustering at the shed no later than 4:30pm for our Forestburg Camping Trip.

All scouts are to be in Class B T-shirts and have a full water bottle on their person (Not in their bags).

Forestburg Packing:

  • Soft duffel bag for clothes
  • Warm clothes (an extra days worth of clothes, plan for getting wet) No shorts allowed.
  • Hat/Gloves/Jacket
  • Sleeping bag
  • Boots (Waterproof preferred), a few extra pairs of socks and a second pair of shoes
  • Full Water Bottle / Drinking Cup / Fork, Spoon and Knife (There will be no utensils provided by Troop or Organizers)
  • Sandwich and Drink for Friday evening dinner
  • Football (if you have one)
