Friday, September 6, 2013 – Troop Registration Night

Welcome back! We hope everyone had an enjoyable and safe summer vacation.

We will be conducting our first meeting this Friday, September 6, 2013 in lower church hall at 7:30pm.  Class B uniforms will be the dress for the night.

Parents are asked to attend registration.

Please note our Registration Fees have increased from the previously mailed postcards.  An email has been sent to our scouting families explaining the reason for the late change.

$112 for one child / $162 for two children / $212 for 3 children

Please make checks payable to ” BSA Troop 37″

Our fundraising team will be collecting $10 per scout for the Pancake Breakfast supplies and each family will be given a theme for the gift basket they are to provide. Also, they will be providing each family with 50/50 raffles tickets booklets for the scouts to sell.

Registration Night Correction and Big Apple Jambo Cutoff Date

Reminder:

Our Registration Night is scheduled for Friday, September 6th, 2013 @ 7:30pm in Lower Church Hall.

Some postcards sent incorrectly stated September 3rd.

As the Troop must submit final rosters and payment on September 15th, we are having our permission slip and payment cutoff date on Friday, September 13th Troop meeting.   Neither will be accepted after that night.

Payment is $75 per Scout and $60 per Adult Leader. The permission slip may be downloaded here {Click Here}.

And the NYLT Essay Winner is…

The 2013 NYLT Conference Essay contest has come to a close and we have a Winner!

Congratulations Devlin Grewal!

The judges reviewed all essays submitted and Devlin’s was found to address all the necessary contest points.

Devlin will be representing Troop 37 at the National Youth Leadership Training Conference (NYLT) at William H. Pouch Scout Camp, Staten Island, New York.

The conference will be held two weekends at William H. Pouch Scout Camp, Staten Island, New York.

  • 6pm, Friday, September 20th through 5pm Sunday September 22nd, 2013; and
  • 6pm, Friday, October 4th through 4pm Sunday October 6th, 2013

Keith Newman Eagle Project continues…

On Friday, August 9th, Keith Newman and his helpers were able to clean up the shrine area at Alba House and scrap some of the paint off of the statue bases which are to be painted.  Since there was a threat of rain, they were not able to paint. Keith would like to thank everyone who was able to attend and help on Friday.

Keith and any helpers who can attend, will finish painting and do some light clean up on Saturday August 17 at 9am.  Lunch will be provided.  Wear old clothes and bring work gloves.

Kieth Newman Eagle Project

Kieth Newman will be running his eagle project Friday, August 9th beginning at 9am.  The project will be at the

Alba House
2187 Victory Blvd SI, NY.

The project will entail painting and refurbishment. Bring sure to wear old clothes, old shoes, and work gloves.

Lunch will be provided so please make every effort to help out.

Big Apple Jambo Registration Collections


This year on October 11-14, 2013 the troop will be attending the Big Apple Jambo at Pouch camp as our October camping trip. The weekend will be filled with many great activities including High Adventure Activities! A schedule of the activities can be found here on the Big Apple Jambo Schedule. It would be great if all of Troop 37 attends.

The troop must register each scout and adult who will attend and we must do so by Sept. 15, 2013. The cost, which includes all meals is $75 for Boy Scouts and $60 for Boy Scout Adults.

There is an early discount of $10 making the cost: $65 for Boy Scouts and $50 for Boy Scout Adults if paid by July 31, 2013.

Anyone interested in going should pay as soon as possible. Anyone who wishes to get the $10 discount needs to submit their payment by July 29 so we can get you/ your scout registered.

In order to insure we can get you/your scout registered before the July 31st cutoff, Mr. Nadal and I will be at Lower Church Hall on Monday, July 29th @ 7:30pm to collect registration monies so we will have it in hand for registration.
